important intersection ahead

Well this may long weekend I went to a wedding in Cochrane Alberta and there was this one sign that kept on appearing in both Saskatchewan and Alberta, it kind of annoyed me because most of the time it wasn't really that big of a intersection, but I guess they weren't that bad considering that I am writing a post about it. well I started writing this post on that Tuesday, but haven't had time until today to finish it.

Lots has happened in that week, first and foremost I got baptized yesterday which was awesome, I felt the holy spirit. On Saturday I gave my 2 weeks notice at Boston pizza which felt very good for some reason, probably because I only had two days off that I didn't book off in the last month. I know that my choice to quit was one that I can live with and I told the manager I might want a job at the end of summer.

In the months ahead I have alot of intersections to turn at, as I am graduating, as I am prioritizing my time and money, as I am figuring out what path my life will take, as I am choosing what to hold onto and what to let go of.

My prayer is that I will keep my eyes on the prize and as cliche as it sounds ask myself what Jesus Christ himself would do

Here are my plans/ schedule for the next few months

May 31- June 3 canoe trip with youth boys
June 4,5,6 English exam
June 14-15 applied math exam

so i didnt have that much time this weekend

So the post I said was coming this weekend is coming sometime this week but I'll just share my testimony
I grew up in a Christian home, and knew of salvation my whole life. The earliest recollection of becoming a Christian I have, was at pioneer clubs camp probably when I was 8 or so. Growing up I loved going to camp, and camp is probably one of my major influences. It showed me that you didn’t have to wear a suit to be a Christian. It was a place where you felt accepted.

The end of middle school and start of high school were probably the roughest years, I didn’t have any friends out of church, and most of my friends from church I only saw once or twice a week. I was kind of stuck in-between wanting to be a Christian and just giving up.

It was around this time that Paul Epp started teaching my Sunday school class, which was great for me. He for the most part wasn’t scared to ask hard questions even if he wouldn’t get answers. Looking back I don’t think it was answers he was looking for, just making us think about it.

My biggest influences have been camp and all the wonderful counselors that have counseled me, and this church with all the Sunday school teachers and people who just generally encouraged me.

Family has also been a pretty big influence, I’m so happy that I lived in a godly home, and have godly parents. And a great brother and sister and I have two awesome grandmas and lots of good uncle and auntie’s and cousins that have been a great influence on me.

I also want to thank all my friends who have been by my side through thick and thin.

This takes me to last summer, my camp offers a leadership development course. And I decided to take it. This week was the most spiritually challenging and uplifting week of my life. The speaker really challenged us to give our all for Jesus, and I learnt team and individual skills. Then later that month I counseled for a week at camp, and two of my kids decided to follow the lord that week which was a huge encouragement to me.

Tht first week was also the week that earl and Ramona Reimer our assistant directors found out that Ramona had cancer. It was tough even to hear that news but it has taught me to pray more passionately and has been an encouragement to get through my minor struggles.

So id like to encourage you to get involved with camp ministries maybe and if you have kids or grandchildren then try to get them to go to camp. Beaver creek is the camp I went to, and will be counseling at this summer.

I’ve spent the last 10 years struggling with god and will probably continue to struggle with him, so my prayer is that I will surrender everything to him

One of my favorite verses comes from Ephesians 2:4,5
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

I have made the choice of becoming baptized because I think Jesus called us to get baptized and to be disciples of him.

.thankyou. to all who have supported my decision

im getting baptized on may 27th and our service starts at 10:45 and there will be a potluck lunch after, anyone is welcome to come

and looking back i'm not sure i'm 100% happy with it

half the time i seemed like i was pitching camp, which isnt a bad thing but i feel i should have maybe spent more time talking about my relationship with Jesus haha oh well

today was great, i had a bunch of my Reimer side come out for my testimony which was awesome they came today because they cant come out for my baptisim. i was tremendously nervous once i got up there because im not too much of a fan of public speaking, i was shaking and talking really fast but i think i did alright haha

well i have to leave now because im going out to stienbach for saturate ill post some more stuff tomorrow

Starting to write my testimony...

And realizing that one of my major Christian influences was camp even though I was surrounded by Christianity all the time. In the later years camp was a good kick in the pants, but in the earlier years it was a place that showed me that Christians could be cool people too. Dahlen Barkman being one of my influences in the earlier years with Andrew, Evan, and other people I cant remember names being there later on. And now Earl and Ramona have been influential and its not necessarily anything they've done, I've been more passionate in my prayer life because I've had something that really mattered to me to pray for, and it has gotten me to pray with friends not something that I used to do out of church. Family has been a influence to me, my brother Kurtis and my dearest big cousin Dayna have been a encouragement me.
And lots of other things have influenced me like music, friends, and I'd say the internet too.
paul epp has been a great role model for me too!

I look at how camp has influenced me (as I write this I have my staff application next to me and have started filling it out), and it drives my choice of being staff at camp this year. Part of me is questioning my intentions both of doing 5 weeks( I don't want to do it if the reason I'm doing it is to seem like I have my act together, and to try to earn respect) and my intentions of just counseling at camp (part of me just sees it as a good time) so pray that I can come to a conclusion so I can best serve the camp.

And for those who want to know I will be sharing my testimony on Sunday April 29th and will be baptized on may 27th at Morrow gospel church and our service starts at 10:45
